J.G.B.: What can one learn about talking? Speech. Not only outer talking, but inner talking, though certainly the outer talking is the first thing to observe. What is the difference between necessary and unnecessary talking? Between unnecessary but harmless talking, and talking that is harmful. What is imitation useful talking? That is, when one is talking and thinks that it is useful and in reality it proceeds from something else in us that is not sincerely concerned with the usefulness of what we are saying. What different degrees of consciousness are associated with talking? How do the different centres participate in speech?
