Theme Presentation, Week 11, January 3rd, 1972 Sherborne House, First Basic Course
Ichlas (Sincerity) J.G. Bennett

Description

The name of the theme I want you to take this week is Ichlas. The word in Arabic “Ichlas” is commonly translated as ‘sincerity’, which is too weak. The dictionary definition is “making pure, clear or concentrated.” That’s primary, making it an essence of itself. Second: “a saving, freeing, extricating a caught or entangled man or thing.” Third: “a being or becoming sincere, free from guile or afterthought, in duty, love or friendship. Pure sincerity of heart.”
